Four new senior appointments have been made at Startline Motor Finance through both internal promotions and new recruitment.
Paul Clark is the new head of IT and digital, shaping and delivering the company’s technology strategy by ensuring platforms, infrastructure and services are secure, resilient and aligned with the company’s growth plans. He has arrived at Startline from Peter Vardy Global, where he was IT director and chief technology officer, and has also held senior positions at Skyscanner and Northern Marine Group.
Gary Slavin has been named head of servicing, leading teams responsible for customer support, collection, recoveries, asset management and specialist support. He arrived at Startline in 2025, having previously worked at Fortis Lease, EE and Santander.
Colin Campbell has become head of originations, overseeing new business activities and underwriting — including responsibility for service delivery, introducer and customer experiences, and operational efficiency. He joined Startline from Fortis Lease in 2013 and has held a number of senior roles within the business.
Finally, Gavin MacKay has been made head of analytics, looking after data, analysis and modelling across the customer lifecycle including credit strategy, scorecard development, portfolio monitoring, regulatory reporting and insight. Joining Startline six years ago, he previously fulfilled roles at Cumberland Building Society and Creditsafe.
Paul Burgess, CEO, said: “Over the last year, we’ve been working to ready Startline for our next phase of expansion and ensuring we have the right people in place to handle all major functions is a key part of that strategy. Alongside projects including a multi-million pound investment in a new, highly scalable origination platform, these appointments mean the business is now in an ideal position to progress rapidly.”
Founded in 2013, Startline has 85,000 customers, £652 million of assets under management and employs 240 people at its Skypark head offices in Glasgow. Specialising in near prime motor finance, the company works with around half of the UK’s top 50 franchise motor dealers by turnover as well as 70% of the top 50 independent car retailers, accounting for around 2% of the total UK motor finance market.
